Júlia

This is our newest and smallest cottage; it was built in 1925. We completed its renovation in 2024.

There is a spacious parking area in the yard, and the entrance is wheelchair-accessible. The cottage features a roomy kitchen with a large table, a cozy small bedroom at the back of the house, and a small bathroom with a shower.

Guests can also relax pleasantly in front of the cottage, where a table and wooden bench are set up—just as was the custom in the old days. Behind the house lies a large, quiet garden that is slated for gradual landscaping.

This cottage belonged to Mrs. Júlia Pastierčinová (née Hulinová; 1900–1974). She and her husband, Mr. Ondrej Pastierčin (1900–1986), built it for their family. They were humble, hardworking people. Together, they had twelve children; three died in childhood, but the remaining nine were highly talented—each played a musical instrument. Their life together was filled with joy, and they were well-known village musicians. Surviving descendants and neighbors remember Mrs. Júlia as a gentle, frail, very kind, and hardworking woman of slight build. She was a renowned herbalist and healer who knew a remedy for every ailment. Although they lived a modest life, she always had a meal ready and found space in the little cottage not only for her nine children but also for the grandfather she cared for.
